Online Submissions
Journal Pharmaceutical Innovation and Development (JPID)
Authors can submit manuscripts through the JPID Open Journal Systems (OJS) website. Before starting, read the Author Guidelines and prepare the manuscript using the JPID template. The instructions below cover preparation, submission, and subsequent communication with the editorial team.
Button names and the order of submission screens may vary according to the OJS version and journal settings. Follow the instructions displayed in your account.
1. Prepare Your Manuscript
- Prepare an editable Microsoft Word manuscript, preferably in .docx format, following the JPID template.
- Check the title, author information, affiliations, abstracts, keywords, tables, figures, and references against the Author Guidelines.
- Prepare English and Indonesian abstracts of 150–250 words each, with 3–5 keywords or key phrases for each language.
- Use Book Antiqua, 12 pt, and single spacing for the main text. The main manuscript should contain 8–15 pages, excluding abstracts and references.
- Ensure that all authors have approved the manuscript and that it is not simultaneously under consideration by another journal.
- Prepare additional documents only where required by the submission form or editorial instructions. Follow any instructions on anonymizing files for review.
2. Register or Log In
Open the JPID website and select Register if you do not have an account. Complete the required profile fields using accurate information and an active email address. Complete email verification if prompted. If you already have an account, select Login. Use the password reset option if you cannot access your account.
3. Start a New Submission
From your author dashboard, select New Submission or the equivalent submission option. Select the appropriate journal section and manuscript language if requested. Read the submission checklist and confirm only the statements that apply to your manuscript. Complete any required declarations and proceed through the submission form.
4. Upload the Submission Files
Upload the manuscript and select the appropriate file component, such as Article Text, where the system asks for one. Check that the correct file has been selected and complete any file details requested. Upload supplementary files separately when required, assigning the appropriate file component to each.
Use descriptive filenames, such as JPID_Manuscript.docx. Before proceeding, check that every upload is complete and that you have not included an outdated draft or an unrelated file.
5. Enter the Manuscript Details
Complete all required metadata fields. Ensure that the information entered in OJS matches the manuscript:
- Title: enter the complete manuscript title.
- Authors and contributors: add all authors in the correct order, with their affiliations and required contact details. Identify the corresponding author or principal contact where available.
- Abstract: enter the abstract in the requested language fields. Supply both language versions where the form provides for them.
- Keywords: enter the manuscript keywords as directed by the form.
- Other information: complete references, funding, identifiers, or other fields when requested.
Do not omit co-authors from the submission metadata merely because their names already appear in the manuscript file.
6. Review and Complete the Submission
Review the manuscript details, author list, declarations, and uploaded files. Correct any errors before selecting Finish Submission, Submit, or the equivalent final confirmation button.
Saving a draft or uploading a file alone does not complete submission. Check for an on-screen confirmation and verify that the manuscript appears in your author dashboard. Keep a record of its submission ID for future correspondence.
7. Monitor Your Submission
Log in to your author dashboard to follow progress and read editorial messages. Check the email address associated with your account, including the spam folder. If no confirmation email arrives, check the dashboard before attempting another submission to avoid duplicates.
Respond to requests through the relevant submission record or the communication method specified by the editor. Submission does not constitute acceptance for publication.
8. Submit Revisions
When revisions are requested, open the existing submission and read all editorial and reviewer comments. Prepare the revised manuscript and a point-by-point response explaining the changes made or the reasons for any disagreement.
Upload the revised files in the revision area identified by the editor and send your response through the available discussion or response function. Follow the stated deadline and any instructions about clean or marked-up copies. Do not create a new submission for a revision unless the editor specifically requests it.
9. Review the Publication Proof
If the manuscript is accepted and a proof is provided, check author details, affiliations, text, tables, figures, and references carefully. Report corrections through the method and within the timeframe specified by the editorial team.
Need Assistance?
Use the contact information on the JPID website if you experience a technical problem. Include the submission ID, if available, a brief description of the problem, and a screenshot of the error. Do not send your account password.
