Focus and Scope
The Journal Pharmaceutical Innovation and Development (JPID) provides a scholarly platform for disseminating research on pharmaceutical sciences, innovation, and development. The journal focuses on advancing knowledge in the discovery, formulation, evaluation, and use of medicines and pharmaceutical products, as well as improving pharmacy services and health outcomes.
JPID welcomes original research articles and review articles that offer methodological rigor, scientific relevance, and contributions to pharmaceutical knowledge or practice. The journal encourages interdisciplinary research connecting laboratory findings, pharmaceutical technology, and healthcare applications.
The journal’s scope includes, but is not limited to:
- Pharmaceutics and Drug Delivery Systems: Pharmaceutical formulation, biopharmaceutics, physical pharmacy, dosage form development, drug stability, nanotechnology, and conventional and novel drug delivery systems.
- Pharmacology and Toxicology: Drug mechanisms of action, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, experimental pharmacology, therapeutic efficacy, drug interactions, and the safety and toxicity of pharmaceutical substances.
- Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry: Drug design, synthesis and characterization of bioactive compounds, structure–activity relationships, pharmaceutical analysis, analytical method development and validation, and quality control.
- Pharmacognosy and Natural Product Research: Medicinal plants, ethnopharmacy, phytochemistry, extraction and isolation of natural compounds, biological activity testing, and the standardization and development of herbal medicines.
- Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Practice: Pharmaceutical care, medication management, rational medicine use, medication adherence, patient counseling, clinical outcomes, and pharmacy services in hospitals and community settings.
- Social and Administrative Pharmacy: Pharmacy management, pharmaceutical policy, medicine accessibility, health literacy, pharmacy education, professional practice, and the social and behavioral aspects of medicine use.
- Pharmacoeconomics and Pharmacoepidemiology: Economic evaluation of pharmaceutical interventions, drug utilization studies, real-world evidence, medicine safety surveillance, and population-level studies of medicine use and outcomes.
- Pharmaceutical Biotechnology and Microbiology: Biotechnology-based pharmaceutical products, microbial bioactive compounds, antimicrobial research, pharmaceutical microbiology, and microbiological quality assessment.
- Cosmetic and Pharmaceutical Product Development: Formulation, characterization, stability, safety, efficacy, and quality evaluation of cosmetics, cosmeceuticals, and other health-related products with clear pharmaceutical relevance.
- Digital Pharmacy and Emerging Pharmaceutical Technologies: Digital tools supporting pharmacy services, pharmaceutical informatics, computational drug discovery, artificial intelligence, and technological innovations in pharmaceutical research and practice.
Manuscripts should demonstrate a clear connection to pharmaceutical science or practice. Studies from related disciplines are welcome when they contribute directly to the development, quality, safety, effectiveness, accessibility, or responsible use of medicines and pharmaceutical products.
