Journal of Economic and Islamic Finance (ECFi) is a peer-reviewed academic journal that publishes original research articles, conceptual papers, and literature reviews in the fields of economics and Islamic economics and finance. The journal covers a broad range of topics, including Islamic economics, Islamic financial institutions, Islamic fiscal and monetary policy, Islamic public finance, and innovations in Sharia-compliant finance.

ECFi is published biannually, in June and December, with p-ISSN: 3123-6375 and e-ISSN: 3123-5875. The journal serves as a scholarly platform for the development and dissemination of knowledge in Islamic economics and finance at both national and international levels.

Focus and Scope

ECFi welcomes submissions covering (but not limited to) the following topics:

  • Development Economic
  • Islamic economic theory and development
  •  Islamic banking and financial services
  • Islamic capital markets
  • Islamic microfinance
  • Zakat, waqf, and Islamic philanthropic institutions
  • Risk management in Islamic finance
  • Halal industry and business
  • Public finance, monetary policy, and macroeconomic studies in Islam

The journal accepts both conceptual and empirical works with strong academic rigor and relevance.

ECFi is published twice a year, in: JuneDecember

Open Access Policy

ECFi follows a full open access policy, which means all published articles are freely available to readers at no charge. Authors retain free and unlimited access to their work without subscription or login requirements. Reproduction, distribution, and use are permitted as long as proper attribution to the original work and author is provided.

Copyright Notice

Authors publishing with ECFi retain copyright of their articles. However, the journal is granted the right of first publication. All articles are distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license unless stated otherwise, allowing others to share and adapt the work with proper citation.

Peer-Review Process

ECFi uses a double-blind peer review system, where identities of both authors and reviewers remain confidential. Each submission is reviewed by at least two independent experts to ensure academic quality, originality, and relevance to the journal’s scope.

Editorial History

Since its establishment, ECFi has committed to improving academic standards and strengthening its review and editorial processes. The journal has expanded its editorial board, adopted digital editorial management systems, and enhanced international reviewer participation to support its mission of academic excellence in Islamic economics and finance.

Sponsorship and Funding

ECFi is supported and managed by institutional academic funding and does not charge article processing charges (APCs) or submission fees. No commercial advertising influences editorial decisions.

Archiving

The journal participates in digital preservation systems to ensure long-term availability and accessibility of published content. ECFi supports participation in LOCKSS and CLOCKSS archiving networks for distributed preservation and permanent access.
